From Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lexington:

Bourbon and the Bayou is a Fat Friday event with Mardi Gras theme including live music, Cajun food, bourbon tastings, silent and live auctions and Mardi Gras entertainment.

The proceeds from this events help us train volunteers as advocates to speak on children’s behalf in the family circuit court in our local community. Our volunteers are appointed by judges and trained to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Currently only 29% of those children who need advocacy are being served. We currently serve Fayette, Bourbon, and Woodford counties.
