The half-mile parade route starts at the West High Street end of Oliver Lewis Way at 11:30am and proceeds toward South Broadway. \nMarch Madness Marching Band is so excited to help the Lexington Pride Festival make history! \nThe festival begins at 11am and runs until 9pm. \nFor more information on the festival\, visit https://www.lexpridefest.org/festivalinfo \n—————— \nThe Lexington Pride Festival is a community celebration to empower and bring awareness to the intersectional lives of LGBTQIA+ Kentuckians. The event means something different to everyone\, but there are some common themes we hear when we ask what it means to attendees. Belonging. Freedom. Safety. Acceptance. Love.  \nWhile the Lexington Pride Festival is a lot of fun\, it’s so much more than just a party. It’s a day to remember\, to protest\, to make change\, to connect\, and to learn. The festival consists of live entertainment\, speakers\, a diverse array of vendors\, food and drink\, community booths\, and activities. \nThe festival is an event of the Lexington Pride Center\, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Grounded at Lexington’s historic Lyric\, you’ll have the chance to try on your own marching band secret agent look\, too.\n \nTheatre concessions and adult beverages will be available for purchase.\n \nYou can also have your caricature made by artist Pierce Birdsong!\n \nLexArts has provided funding support for MMMB presents: Spy vs Spy through its annual Fund for the Arts campaign. Food and beverage vendors will be onsite serving up good eats and treats. \nThis event\, which has been named a Top 10 Halloween Destination by USA Today and was featured in the Top 25 Best Halloween Festivals Across the U.S. by Oprah Magazine\, is brought to you by Lexington Parks & Recreation\, Mecca Live Studio and WRFL. Before the Thriller reenactment\, we hold a parade that is a celebration of all things Halloween! DESCRIPTION:Want to join our band of merry-makers? We welcome all ages and skill levels! \nMMMB ordinarily practices every Sunday afternoon at Artworks at the Carver School\, 522 Patterson Street. New band members should email us at info@m-m-m-b.org prior to joining a rehearsal\, so we can make sure to have sheet music and props available. \nWhen indoors\, the color guard and musicians usually rehearse in separate second floor classrooms\, with a joint period of announcements in the middle: \n–3:45-4:00 pm\, musicians arrive; warm-up \n–4:00-6:00\, color guard and musicians rehearse \n–break at 5-ish for announcements \nSome weeks\, when the color guard and musicians need to practice together\, the timing may be different. Some weeks\, the practice location may be different. Due to holidays and scheduling conflicts\, there will not be any practice some weeks. All schedule changes will be reflected on the private BAND app. \nAre kids and other guests welcome at practice?  \nKids who are serious about practicing are very welcome\, at the discretion of the Minister of the Grooves and the Ministers of the Moves. A parent/guardian should stay for practice\, as no one else in MMMB can take responsibility for watching them. We look forward to continuing the tradition in downtown Lexington this year. \nThe Lexington Division of Parks and Recreation produces the annual parade and festival with community support from local businesses and cultural organizations. \nThe events are part of an all-day celebration that traditionally begins at 10:45 a.m.\, with the annual “Blessing of the Keg” at Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park. The parade begins at 1 p.m. and goes down Main Street from Midland Avenue to Mill Street.
